Buying Jackets Through Litbuy: Fabric, Fit and the Batch Question
The short version: with jackets, the two things that separate a good order from a disappointing one are the fabric weight and the specific batch or version a Weidian seller is stocking. Nail those before you paste a link into Litbuy and the rest usually follows.
Outerwear hides more construction than any other category, so it rewards a discerning eye. A shell jacket, a padded parka and a heavy workwear coat are three different QC conversations, and the same "find" can exist as an early rough batch and a later refined one. On W2CSpreadsheet you'll often see the same jacket listed under several Weidian stores at different prices — that price gap is frequently a batch gap, not a scam.
Before ordering, work through the listing like this:
- Read the measurement chart, not the size letter. Chest, shoulder, sleeve and total length in centimetres beat "L" every time. Lay a jacket you already own flat and compare. Chinese sizing on outerwear runs slim, and a slim shell over a hoodie gets tight fast.
- Ask the batch, then ask why it's cheaper. A good Weidian seller will tell you which version they carry and show real photos. A vague answer or only stock images is a signal to slow down.
- Request QC on the parts that fail first: zipper pull and teeth (brand-stamped, smooth travel), drawcords and toggles, logo embroidery or woven tags for alignment and thread colour, and — on padded pieces — even fill with no cold spots or leaking down.
Fabric weight is where photos lie. A nylon shell should read crisp, not papery; fleece and wool blends should look dense in the QC pictures, not thin and hairy. If you're between a lighter and heavier version of the same jacket, tell your Litbuy QC note what you care about and ask for close-ups of the weave.
A few practical habits: budget for real shipping weight, since a winter coat is one of the heaviest things you'll forward; expect minor colour shift between screen and reality on dark dyes; and keep the tags-on photos until you've confirmed fit at home. Prices, seller availability and which batch is currently in stock all change, so treat the live Litbuy listing and the seller's own reply as the source of truth rather than an older spreadsheet entry.
